Leisure 20 – “Polo 2”
With her long waterline and generous beam, this bilge keeled Leisure 20 “Polo 2” is a superbly balanced four-berth family cruiser that can be sailed just about anywhere comfortably and safely.
Built in 1985, her hull was drafted by German designer Horst E. Glacier while her deck was designed by Brian Meerlo. For both serious offshore cruising and inshore pottering, she’s the ideal trailer-sailer, subsequently giving virtually unlimited choice of horizons.
Under sail, “Polo 2” is extremely stable, vice-free and fast, and performs well under all types of conditions.
In 2020, Polo 2 was fully refurbished and is sold complete with a road trailer – she is totally ready to trail away then sail away!

Under power, she cruises happily and economically with her five horse power, 4 stroke Mercury Outboard, complete with morse controls, and is extremely manoeuvrable whether going ahead or astern. There are 2 x 6 gallon fuel tanks enabling a substantial cruising range. The outboard motor is located inboard through a tunnel in the centre of the cockpit.

Polo 2’s sail wardrobe includes 2 slab reefed mainsails and 3 jibs with roller reefing. All halyards lead to the cockpit ensure safety if sailing single handed.
Galley, Saloon and Cabin
Below decks, four berths are contained within the cabin area, two in the spacious forecastle and two in the comfortable saloon. There is a porta potty toilet. As well as storage, her well equipped galley area includes a Flavel two-burner stove, and a sink and 8 gallon fresh water tank.
Polo 2’s deep and wide cockpit area includes lockers on either side, comfortable, high quality cockpit cushions, a new spray hood and spray dodgers, together with a sail cover. A hanging locker contains a gas bottle. Ground tackle consists of a cqr anchor with warp and chain. Mooring warps and fenders are also included.
