This three cabin ‘owners version’ Beneteau Oceanis 45 “Sorry, Peaches” was built by Beneteau, France, to the designs of Finot-Conq in 2014 and is no exception in keeping with Beneteau tradition.
This family owned and very well cared for Beneteau Oceanis 45 is auxiliary powered by a Yanmar 54Hp diesel engine and benefits from bow thruster, sprayhood (new 2019), Bimini with sun-screens and full enclosure, solar panels, radar, GPS, chart plotter, additional chart plotter screen at chart table, autopilot, DSC VHF Radio, electric windlass with chain counter, saloon table conversion (to berth) kit, electric toilet forward and holding tanks. Complete with new tender, Honda 2.3 HP outboard, 2 New Inflatable StandUp Paddle boards, Handheld VHF, Electronic keyboard and computer printer. Years of innovation and precise attention to detail leave a distinguished performance in her wake.Owners CommentsIn 2019, after decades of dreaming and years of planning, our family of four took a sabbatical from our daily routines of work and school and set sail on a year long adventure in the Mediterranean. We took leave of friends, co-workers and schoolmates, packed what we would need for the trip, and moved neighbours into our house to care for home, garden, and pets while we were away. The animals included one fish, five chickens, two cats and our beloved golden retriever, Peaches. The kids were given naming rights to our new boat, who, in a moment of dark humour, christened her ‘Sorry, Peaches’. Sorry, Peaches is the boat we hoped we’d find and quickly became our home away from home. The elegance and functionality of Beneteaus are well known and this boat did not disappoint. The cockpit and saloon were our living rooms whether above or below decks, perfect for relaxing with just the family, entertaining neighbouring crews, completing schoolwork, or Zoom conferencing (yes, even before the pandemic!). We loved the exquisite detailing, lighting, sound system, generous companionway stairs, and abundant storage. The bathing platform made coming aboard or stepping off easy whether in a marina or using the dingy, and it was our own private beach in whatever secluded cove we found ourselves. The boat was big enough to give everyone ample personal space and manageable enough to double-hand. She was such a pleasure to sail. On almost any point of sail we could find the sweet spot of sail trim that would perfectly balance the helm, sailing for miles with a light hand on the wheel. Despite a thorough survey, taking over someone else’s boat still generated anxiety for us. It was soon clear that she was both lightly used and lovingly cared for. Everything was in order, served faithfully, and we have honoured her with the same attention. We are so sad to let Sorry, Peaches go, but we take comfort knowing someone else is going to enjoy her company on their own voyage. Brokers CommentsThis Beneteau Oceanis 45 was lightly used by her first owners and registered in the UK; she is now being sold by her second owners who purchased her with our brokerage in April 2019 and is now US flagged. She came ashore in November 2019 where her main engine and outboard were serviced and her genoa reconditioned. She has not been used since and the boat yard have carefully looked after her throughout the current pandemic. This is an opportunity for a non European tax resident to purchase a very good and well equipped family Oceanis 45 without having to pay EU VAT, or for a European purchaser to purchase her for use outside Europe (Turkey etc.) or to pay VAT on her current value and keep her in the EU.
