Saundersfoot Harbour

The Trust Port of Saundersfoot offers marine enthusiasts a launching off point to enjoy Carmarthen Bay, or to discover the southern coastline of Pembrokeshire and its remarkable natural wildlife and island habitats, with the harbour boasting inner dry, wet, and visitor moorings.

New to Saundersfoot Harbour is the Wales International Coastal Centre, a £10 million development funded by the Welsh Government, European Funding Body and Coastal Communities Fund. This comprises of four linked facilities.

Ocean Square is a new shopping area, offering a selection of local products, food, and coastal clothing, surrounding an all-weather covered Events Plaza. The Welcome & Heritage Centre located in the Old Coal Office on Ocean Square will provide visitors with an information point, and also features the first of three new interpretation centres on Saundersfoot Harbour, looking at the mining heritage of Saundersfoot and the surrounding area. The first and second floors comprise of short-stay pod-style accommodation.

The National Events Deck, built over the sluice offers a large events area and Crabbing Centre, along with the new Coastal Schooner, a life-size three-masted schooner which visitors can board, man the helm, and climb the rigging on a high-ropes course, or enjoy outdoor cinema from the masts. Below deck will be the second interpretation centre exploring Welsh maritime history, including trade, piracy and smuggling; along with a small cafe.

The Marine Centre of Excellence, overlooking the harbour and Glen Beach is home to the Harbour Office, Outer Reef Water Sports Centre, offering stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, coasteering, and surfing classes and equipment hire; Fairwinds Chandlery; EV Marine Workshop; Harbour Bites cafe; a seaside restaurant space with spectacular views of the bay and wrap around balcony, which is currently available to let; Ocean Cabins short-stay pod-style accommodation; meeting rooms; and the Storm Centre, the third interpretation centre exploring the local environment, weather, and climate change.
