Sailing BoatsSailing DinghiesTiwal Inflatable Portable Sailing DinghyModel 3Thanks for looking at my listing.
You are looking at my Tiwal 3 sailing dinghy, which I bought four years ago for just under 6000 euros. I have only used her six times in total since then. The Tiwal sailing dinghy is an inflatable, portable, rigid and high performance sailing dinghy, that I bought for taking on holiday with me when I went with my family. Amazingly, the boat fits into two bags, which can be taken on a plane! It was one of the best boats I have ever sailed, but now my kids are grown up so all my holidays are on yachts rather than by a beach. She makes people stop and clap from the beach whenever people see me inflating her and sailing off on her. She makes my heart sing when she zips along in even the lightest winds. And she’s the most beautiful boat I’ve ever owned. She is incredibly versatile, in that when disassembled she fits into two bags (hull in one, mast, rig and spars in the other) which can be carried in a small car (I have a Fiat 500!) or taken on a plane. She can be launched from almost anywhere, and because she is light she is quicker than most boats I’ve ever sailed. She is 3.2m long and 1.62 wide once the rig is fitted. She comes with two sets of sails for different wind conditions. The 7m² sail is powerful, suitable for one or two adults sailing in light to moderate winds. The 5.20 m² sail is more versatile. It works for adults in a strong breeze, and for children in normal weather conditions if they are less experienced.Experienced sailors will love how reactive she is in all weathers. Despite being inflatable, the Tiwal feels like a high performance rigid boat. She sails well upwind thanks to its large centre board and V-shaped hull. She is also a real delight downwind with her wide open transom.Hiking out on the wings is great fun, and because she is light, thanks to her carbon mast (the Total boat weight is 50kg), she planes very easily, and she is so manoeuvrable she tacks within its own length. The Tiwal 3 is made from an inflatable 3D textile hull. It is particularly rigid when inflated to a high pressure. The drop-stitch designed with a V-hull is a patented world first. The alluminum framework is laser-machined to allow fast and seamless assembly. With her carbon mast, she responds fast and provides fantastic sailing and handling. The sails are both North Sails, and its boom-less design is safer than most boats, but has the power and feel of a sporty boat. All the fittings are top quality and made by Harken. The boat is designed for two adults or one adult and two children, but I’ve had three adults onboard without any problems. She comes with a pump and a Manuel, but you can buy an electric pump as well as an extra.I believe in karma and honesty – so in that spirit the only tiny things I can think of which are negatives are the the bag handle has ripped on one side, but has been tied up in a knot. The hull is a bit dirty because the last time I used it was in a river. That’s literally it. Please know that the boat is as described and you’re welcome to come and check her over yourself. She is the best boat I have ever owned. And I’ve only used her six times in my life.I have never had a boat where I get stopped so regularly and have her photographed. You are welcome to come and see the boat n Hammersmith, London. Let me know if you’d like to do this. The first to see will buy. Please also see my 100% positive feedback record on ebay, spreading back over a decade. I am always entirely honest in my listings, and treat people like I would expect to be treated.I just hope she goes to a good home, and you’ll have to excuse me if I weep a bit. Hopefully the new owner can send me pictures now and then of her continuing adventures. Jonathan…*
